After a season with ups and downs, loanee Nicolas Jackson has to leave FC Bayern and return to Chelsea. But a different (coaching) wind is now blowing there. That could play into the Senegalese’s hands.
Nicolas Jackson may not have to look for a new club after his departure from FC Bayern. As the Daily Mail reports, Chelsea’s new coach Xabi Alonso is determined to give the 24-year-old another chance at Stamford Bridge to prove himself.
According to the report, Jackson’s biggest problem at Chelsea was his relationship with former coach Enzo Maresca. Since the Italian has long since been replaced by Alonso, the path back into the team is theoretically clear for the Bayern loanee.
According to the Daily Mail, a sale is not yet off the table. It all depends on how Jackson does during the preparation, they say. These weeks will then decide whether it will come back onto the market or be allowed to stay. The offensive man is contractually bound to the Blues until 2033 (!).
Good, but not outstanding at FC Bayern
According to the report, Jackson would also like to make a second attempt in London. However, that is on the condition that he gets regular playing time. It is far from clear whether this will happen, especially since Chelsea FC has always hit the transfer market on a large scale in recent years and has made massive changes to its squad after each season. That should also be the case this summer.
Jackson moved to FC Bayern on loan last summer after they had previously tried in vain to sign Nick Woltemade. The Munich-based company paid an unusually high loan fee for the loan deal: 16.5 million euros flowed from the Isar to the Thames.
The World Cup driver made a good, but not outstanding, impression at FC Bayern. He rarely got the chance to play more than 90 minutes in the top-class offensive team. However, he did his job with eleven goals and five assists. However, this was not enough for the purchase option to be exercised.
