The Munich team continues in the “premier league” in Rotterdam. However, the club had to deal with some delays before their arrival.

FC Bayern had to show patience before leaving for the Champions League duel against Feyenoord Rotterdam. The charter flight was scheduled to take off from Munich Airport on Tuesday at 5:20 p.m. However, as “Bild” and Sport1 reported, the Lufthansa plane was only able to take off an hour later.

There were therefore several reasons for the delay. First, an abandoned suitcase was discovered in a café at the gate. The police closed the area and were able to resolve the situation quickly. However, after the security checks at the terminal took more time, the plane apparently had to be de-iced for several minutes.

According to the report, once the Munich residents boarded the plane, it took another half hour before the hand luggage suitcases could be stowed away. Fog also prevented a punctual departure.

Because the German record champions, along with sponsors, club bosses, fans and journalists, arrived late at Rotterdam Airport, the start of the obligatory press conference was delayed. Coaches Vincent Kompany and Jamal Musiala only took the podium at 8:25 p.m., 40 minutes later than originally planned.

With two wins in the remaining group games – against Feyenoord and ŠK Slovan Bratislava – the record champions can qualify directly for the round of 16 and avoid the playoffs. In the cauldron “De Kuip”, the stadium in Rotterdam, coach Kompany has the entire squad at his disposal.
