FC Bayern: Paul Wanner makes Bundesliga history

At the German soccer record champions FC Bayern Munich, a youngster moved up to second position in the ranking of the youngest Bundesliga players in history.

Substitute Paul Wanner (16 years and 15 days) made his debut in the home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach (1: 2). Only Youssoufa Moukoko (16 years and 1 day) from Borussia Dortmund was younger when it premiered in the top German division.

In the club’s internal ranking of Munich, Wanner pushed ahead of the previous record holder Jamal Musiala (debut on June 20, 2020 at the age of 17 years, 3 months and 25 days).

Julian Nagelsmann praised the youngster. “If he stays clear, the door and gate are open to him,” said the coach after the game.
