A short-term measure by the police in Paris outraged FC Bayern supporters and the club’s management. CEO Dreesen speaks of an “outrageous action”.

FC Bayern Munich has also taken legal action against what it sees as completely excessive police measures when their fans traveled to the Champions League game at Paris-Saint Germain following a protest. In a statement from the German soccer record champions, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen spoke of an “unprecedented approach” by the Paris police prefecture.

One day before the game – and therefore at extremely short notice – they had ordered that all 15 fan buses had to gather at a toll booth on a motorway outside the French capital. From there they were only allowed to set off to the Prinzenpark Stadium under police escort four hours before kick-off. Around 750 people on the buses were affected.

“Overnight we secured a court date for this afternoon in Paris, at which our representatives took action against this order,” Bayern boss Dreesen said on matchday. After this appointment, the association was informed that the verdict would not be issued in writing until hours later. “Since this is probably too late to change anything about this outrageous behavior, this is once again a slap in the face to our fans,” said Dreesen.

The Bundesliga club complained that there were “totally inadequate sanitary facilities” at the bus stop, as well as no food or drinks. The treatment of supporters contradicts “all standards”.

Another problem: Due to the late arrival time at the stadium, the bus drivers’ driving times would change. The departure time would only be possible six to seven hours after the game, i.e. in the early hours of the morning.

FC Bayern reported that PSG and UEFA supported him in the matter. The German record champions also announced that the police prefecture’s actions would “under no circumstances be left alone.”
