FC Bayern | Officially! Talent is leaving Munich “with immediate effect”

At the age of 17 he made his debut for FC Bayern in the German Bundesliga, at the age of 20 he is the outstanding player for Munich’s second team in the Bavarian Regional League – but now Lucas Copado has decided to continue his path away from the Bavarian capital.

FC Bayern and homegrown Lucas Copado are going their separate ways. The German record champions announced this on Monday.

The attacker is moving to Austria and joining the Linzer ASK with immediate effect. The former German U18 international has signed a contract with the Black and Whites until the end of June 2028.

Copado’s contract in Munich would have expired at the end of the season. It is not known whether FC Bayern will receive a transfer fee.

“Lucas has been trained at FC Bayern since 2016 and has continuously developed during this time. We would like to thank him for his many years of commitment. We wish him only the best for his new challenge at LASK. We will continue to follow his path with interest,” confirmed Bayern’s director of youth development Jochen Sauer announced Copado’s farewell on “fcbayern.com”.

“I had a great time at FC Bayern”

Copado himself added: “I had a great time at FC Bayern and would like to thank everyone who accompanied and supported my path. Now I’m looking forward to the challenge at LASK in the Austrian Bundesliga.”

LASK managing director Radovan Vujanovic also commented on the deal on the website of Copado’s new club: “It fills us with great pleasure that Lucas has chosen LASK despite numerous offers. He has enormous potential and his commitment shows that we are an attractive address for young, highly talented players.”

The nephew of Bayern’s former sports director Hasan Salihamidzic underlined his potential in the Regionalliga Bayern in 2023/24. With ten goals and five assists in 17 appearances, he is his team’s best scorer.
