FC Bayern is apparently now about Luis Diaz’s obligation from Liverpool FC. The wing striker is said to reinforce the Munich offensive, but fans and experts are skeptical.

FC Bayern has been working for a few weeks – In addition to advertising around Nick Woltemade – very intensely in an obligation by Luis Diaz. The Munichers want to strengthen their offensive. For this project, sports director Max Eberl promised an “outstanding player” weeks ago. According to several media reports, FCB now wants to convince FC Liverpool with an offer of around 75 million euros.

Wirtz, Williams, Barcola – Diaz is not the first choice of FC Bayern

Diaz is by no means the 1A solution of the Munich. First this should be Florian Wirtz, who, however, decided to move to Liverpool. Then FC Bayern tried everything to hire Nico Williams, who in turn decided to remain at Athletic Bilbao – the poker around Bradley Barcola (Paris Saint -Germain) ran similarly.

The players had some in common: in early 20, versatile, both, with the ability to play opponents in a confined space in order to create opportunities in the third of the attack. For FC Bayern, who presses his opponents as deep as no other team in a European comparison, one of the most important qualities in the Vincent Kompany system.

Why a possible Diaz transfer divides the opinions

Now FC Bayern has probably chosen a new desired player with Diaz – which is currently about displeasure with many fans and experts. The biggest point of criticism: The Colombian wing player from Liverpool is 29 years old next January and will probably cost FC Bayern over 70 million euros.

Diaz and the parallels to Sané

In addition, Diaz has weaknesses: observers criticize his lack of bilateral, his lack of consistency in the conclusion, his decision -making in the third of the attack. An end-20-year-old with these problems sounds suspiciously like Leroy Sané, who only switched from FC Bayern to Galatasaray in the summer after the bursting salary negotiations.

And there are also some similarities in the statistics: The two players achieved average as many goals per 90 minutes last season (Diaz 0.47, vs. Sané 0.48), gave a similar number of assists (0.15 vs. 0.2), brought the ball forward as often – whether by dribbling (3.95 vs. 4.05) or passing game (3.95 vs. 3.81). “El Luchito” – Fighter mentality from childhood

But unlike Sané, Diaz was one of the most important players in the attack by Liverpool, who convincingly won the championship in the Premier League this season. The Colombian played one of the best seasons of his career after he had to pass a difficult phase in the previous season when his parents in Colombia were kidnapped by a guerrilla force and finally opened again after fears.

Diaz overcame these difficult days. It is not the first time that Diaz showed that he was able to prevail against adversity. And not only because, no matter where he came – whether to the Liverpool FC or his first European association FC Porto – he immediately hit everywhere and became a top performer.

The fact that Luis Diaz has an irrepressible will and a fighter mentality was already evident in his childhood in La Guajira Colombian, where he learned to play football barefoot in earthy places. His slim stature and ambition brought him the nickname “Luchito”, little fighter.

How Diaz could help in the Kompany system

In his career by La Guajira, he had kept this fighting spirit to improve the will and to fight into every game to the lawn of the Anfield stadium. This mentality should now be one of the reasons why Vincent Kompany Diaz absolutely wants to have. At Liverpool, the Colombian was not only the second most important player on the offensive next to Mo Salah – he was also a tireless worker in pressing who wanted to destroy the opposing attack efforts in the full sprint.

Although he could not always play out his speed in the Bundesliga when the opponents are particularly deep, his good work against the ball would undoubtedly help FC Bayern in every game. However, the question of how he would fit into the offensive of the Munich, how often he can find his teammates and score the goal will be decisive for whether a possible transfer fee of over 70 million would be worth it in the end.
