In the summer, Niklas Süle will be at FC Bayern for five years. The German national player played over 150 competitive games in the jersey of the record champions. How many will come is uncertain. Süle’s contract expires at the end of June, and there is still no clear commitment to the club.

President Herbert Hainer now explained in the Sky interview that the club is fighting for the central defender: “We made an offer to Niklas Süle. Now it’s up to him to accept it or not.”

At the same time, the 67-year-old sent a clear message. Bayern want a signal: “Of course it has to be within a certain period of time, because then we have to position ourselves accordingly. I don’t know the exact date right now, but it will certainly be so far in the foreseeable future that he will admit or just say what his wishes are. And then we’ll talk to him.”

It’s an open secret that Süle dreams of the Premier League. At 26, he’s about the best age to seize this opportunity. Chelsea FC, for example, has been associated with him for some time.

Manuel Neuer’s situation

The situation is much better with Manuel Neuer. Hainer was optimistic about a new contract: “I am firmly convinced that Manuel Neuer will end his career at Bayern Munich. He can certainly play for a few more years at the level he is playing at. He is still the best goalkeeper in the world for me and I would be happy if we can announce it at some point. But I firmly believe that Manuel will end his career with us.”

Good for Bayern: In the case of Manuel Neuer there is no rush. His contract runs until 2023. In addition to Süle, only the contracts of Corentin Tolisso, Sven Ulreich and Paul Wanner expire.
