FC Bayern: Joshua Kimmich praises Champions League jubilee Leroy Sané

Strong Bayern attacker

National player Leroy Sané (27), who has been so inconsistent in previous years, has also amazed his colleagues at FC Bayern with his consistently good performances in the first phase of this season. Joshua Kimmich (28) praised the Munich winger before his 50th Champions League game on Tuesday evening at FC Copenhagen (9 p.m./in the TM live ticker).

“At the moment it is impressive how consistently Leroy brings his performances onto the pitch. Every three days he is one of our best players. He decides the games,” said Kimmich in Denmark. “He has already scored one or two wins for us.”

Sané actually seems to be in the form of his life. In the Bundesliga he scored five goals in the first six matchdays. And he was also one of Munich’s goalscorers in the 4-3 win in the premier league opener against Manchester United. Together with newcomer Harry Kane (30), Sané is currently the top player in the record champions’ offensive.

“I try to have a good rhythm,” Sané recently said about his high. He also scored in the first international matches of the European Championship season against Japan (1:4) and France (2:1). “It is exceptionally difficult to stop him the way he is now,” noted Kimmich. “You can tell that he is currently showing a joy in playing that is contagious. I hope it lasts for a long time.”

Kimmich knows no reason why things are going so well for Sané at FC Bayern

Kimmich couldn’t name a specific reason why things are going so well for Sané this season. “I think he has always made the effort. Leroy is a player who is physically very strong, who is always fit, who plays every three days. He has shown what he can do in the past and has been able to get it on the pitch at times.”

With his 50th appearance in the Champions League, Sané will move into the top 25 of Germans with the most “premier league” games – like Julian Brandt (27). The BVB professional also has 49 Champions League appearances before the home game against AC Milan on Wednesday (9 p.m./in the TM live ticker).
