FC Bayern is enough “80 percent”: Ballack criticizes BVB

Borussia Dortmund has hit the transfer market mightily. Many BVB fans are therefore already dreaming of winning the championship. So far, however, those responsible for the club around sports director Sebastian Kehl have not made a title announcement. This is not the only reason why Michael Ballack sees FC Bayern at an advantage in the Bundesliga.

“The squad is still the strongest in the league,” the former national team captain told the “table football“: “Bayern has the experience and self-image to become champions.”

The other clubs found it difficult to “formulate the goal,” Ballack judged. “I lack the seriousness in communication, to really want to tackle these high goals. They prefer to be careful,” complained the 45-year-old.

Ballack asked: “Is the idea of offering FC Bayern full competition really there? Who seriously wants to stop Bayern? Who is going to take the financial risk, even if it creates pressure? Who is willing to take on this pressure situation and deal with defeats? ” He doesn’t see any other Bundesliga club at this level.

Criticism of BVB

In recent years, Borussia Dortmund has mostly been Munich’s biggest competitor. Ultimately, however, BVB had to admit defeat in the last ten seasons. “The relationship between aspiration – becoming champion – and mentality – showing it every week – is not right,” Ballack criticized the black and yellow for their approach.

“They tend to bring in young players who aren’t quite there yet, especially in terms of personality development. I’m not including Bellingham here. Many players didn’t make the step from talent to top player, also in terms of mentality. That’s why they lose sometimes against Hertha or Bochum – and against Munich”, the former midfielder explained his opinion.

Ballack: FC Bayern is champion with 80 percent

FC Bayern play “80 percent of the season in third gear” and still become champions. “That can’t be,” said Ballack: “Dortmund must be ready to play every game in sixth gear. I expect BVB to be on an equal footing in terms of mentality and concentration.”

That’s why the Capitano also talks about innovations in the Bundesliga. “I think playoff games create more excitement, we see that in America. It would be helpful to think about it, also in the interests of the fans,” said Ballack: “We criticized exactly that when I was playing Glasgow Rangers in Scotland won eleven titles in twelve years. We said: We don’t want that kind of situation! Now we have it. For me it would therefore only be logical to think about improving our attractiveness.”
