FC Bayern is apparently planning talks with Zidane

Not a day without new water level reports regarding FC Bayern’s search for a coach: The Bundesliga club apparently wants to talk to Zinedine Zidane.

Thomas Tuchel and FC Bayern are parting ways at the end of the season – so far, so known. It is still unclear who will be the 50-year-old’s successor.

Zinedine Zidane is considered one of the candidates. As transfer reporter Ekrem Konur reports, FC Bayern, like Juventus and Manchester United, want to hold talks with the 51-year-old.

According to “Sport Bild”, Zidane is “not uninterested” in the coaching position at the German record champions. The Frenchman most recently worked at Real Madrid and has been without a club since the summer of 2021.

“Not speaking German is not an exclusion criterion for us. We are looking for the best solution for FC Bayern, we also have an international team. In addition, a coach can also act non-verbally,” said Bayern club president Herbert Hainer to “Sport Bild”.

A statement that Zidane would have noted with interest.

Zidane is toying with returning to the coaching bench

The 1998 world champion was recently asked about a possible future as a coach in Italy in an interview with “Sky Italia” at the premiere of the documentary about Marcelo Lippi.

“Why not, anything can happen,” replied the 51-year-old. “At the moment I’m doing other things, but we’ll see, I’d like to be on the bench again,” Zidane continued. Does this also apply to a possible commitment to FC Bayern?

According to consistent media reports, the Munich team has identified Xabi Alonso as the ideal solution. The Spaniard still has a working document at Bayer Leverkusen until 2026. Liverpool FC is also said to be interested in the 42-year-old. Jürgen Klopp is leaving the Premier League leaders in the summer.
