The showdown in Munich has produced a winner: FC Bayern is again securing the basketball championship-and gives Gordon Herbert a title in his first season.

The basketball players of FC Bayern are again German champions. In an intensive final of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), the Munich team prevailed with 81:77 against Ratiopharm Ulm and thus secured the seventh title of club history. Bayern won the best-of-Five series 3-2 by success on Thursday evening.

After the defeat of Bayern in game three, Ulm initially had two match balls, but did not know how to use them. The main round round initially left the first big chance in Ulm (53:67). The team missed 48 hours again. Bayern had the better end in front of a home backdrop.

For FCB coach Gordon Herbert, who led the German national team to the World Cup title in 2023, his first season in Munich ends with a title win. In the Euroleague and in the BBL Cup, the desired success failed.

FC Bayern successfully defended the championship for the third time in its history. The previous titles date from 1954, 1955, 2014, 2018, 2019 and 2024.

In the final game, Devin Booker became the best thrower of Munich with 19 points. On the Ulm side, Karim Jallow convinced with 22 points-but the title was not enough for the team from Baden-Württemberg. The triumph of 2023 will initially be the only championship success for Ulm.
