Bayern professional currently injured
With a market value of 70 million euros, left-back Alphonso Davies is one of the most valuable players in Bayern’s squad, and his position is the most valued in the world. Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg recently tweeted that the Canadian is a transfer target from Real Madrid and Manchester City’s sporting director Txiki Begiristain would like him. Now Davies’ advisor Nick Huoseh has told the TV station “TSN‘ confirms that ‘some clubs’ are interested in his client. “But there are no concrete talks yet,” he added.

At both Real Madrid and Man City, the left-back side is sparsely occupied. Only Ferland Mendy is planned for the “Royal” position, because he was out for a long time recently, midfielder Eduardo Camavinga moved to the wing – including in the Champions League semi-finals against Man City. David Alaba has also been placed in this position several times this season. At Man City, on the other hand, the only left-back in the squad, Sergio Gómez, is only used sparingly. Coach Pep Guardiola instead trusts central defenders like Nathan Aké or Manuel Akanji – or relies on a back three. Davies could undoubtedly remedy the situation at both clubs, but advisor Huoseh also said: “Davies still has two years of contract and FC Bayern hopes to be able to extend the contract. Nothing to confirm yet.”
An extension has been a topic for a long time. In March, the “Sport Bild” reported that talks with the 39-time national player would soon be pending. The record champions want planning security not only from Davies, but also from other players so as not to come under pressure because the contract is about to expire. Another case of Alaba, who moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2021, should be avoided. Robert Lewandowski was only tied for a year before his transfer to FC Barcelona, so he put pressure on the club’s management.
Davies has now been in Munich for almost four and a half years and played a total of 153 games in which he scored eight goals and provided 25 assists – he is currently missing the final stretch of the season due to a muscle injury.
