The transfer fee of almost 100 million euros with which FC Bayern made Harry Kane the most expensive purchase in the German Bundesliga in the summer of 2023 was certainly controversial, but quickly proved to be absolutely justified. The Englishman scored 95 goals in 92 games in the German upper house of football alone. It is therefore not surprising that rumors about the interest of other top clubs are constantly circulating through the media airwaves. An insider has now classified the speculation.

FC Barcelona is said to have already had Harry Kane in its sights, “Bild” football director Christian Falk recently brought the goalscorer into play at Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United from the English Premier League is repeatedly considered a club that is said to be targeting the services of the captain of the English national team. However, the supposedly interested parties probably cannot expect any really great opportunities.

Transfer insider Pete O’Rourke emphasizes in the “Football Insider’s Transfer Insider Podcast” that Manchester United are still keeping an eye on Kane, but the latter “absolutely” wants to stay at FC Bayern. A farewell after the current season is “highly unlikely”.

“I think he also feels comfortable off the pitch in Munich”

“Kane had a release clause that he could have activated, but he didn’t activate it, which suggests he was very happy in Munich,” is O’Rourke’s assessment of the situation. And further: “I think he also feels comfortable off the pitch in Munich. As long as Bayern Munich wins titles and competes for the highest honors, I see no real reason for Kane to seek a change.”

Kane’s contract in Munich ends in the summer of 2027, but the club is said to be striving to extend the working paper.

“Now those responsible in the operational area – that’s what we’ve discussed – will hold talks with him at some point after the season. With the clear aim of extending his contract,” Bayern’s former CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently explained in an interview with “t-online”.
