The contract extension of Nico Williams surprised both those responsible for FC Barcelona and the decision -makers at Bayern. The Spaniard had extended his contract with Athletic Bilbao until 2035, although a move to Barca is said to be just imminent.
Bayern patron Uli Hoeneß had not foreseen this turn either. “All” at the German record champion were surprised at how he revealed “Br24 Sport”. “I also have close contact with Hansi Flick, who is going on vacation at Tegernsee. And they also surprised it because they had more or less a commitment.”
Nico Williams has been a hot change candidate in recent weeks, including FC Bayern and FC Barcelona around Coach Flick for the favor of Williams. On Friday, however, the 22 -year -old offensive player and European champion had extended his contract with the Basque until 2035.
Hoeneß talks about possible Woltemade transfer
Hoeneß could only speculate about the reasons: “I don’t quite understand what he wants now. But in my opinion a few people just want more money. He had a transfer of 60 million and now you try to get more next year.”
In terms of possible new Bavarians – especially Nick Woltemade – the 73 -year -old campaigned for patience: “We still have time until the end of August. The Woltemade case is still in the floating. The left side is certainly still being pricked”. It was decided internally to do “only reasonable things”, after all, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry are still available.
With a view to the left side of the Munich, Hoeneß also confirmed that “not at every price” to sign new players: “I don’t know for a backup 50, 60 million.”
Woltemade he thinks “is a very, very good player who would suit us and I would very much welcome it if it works this year – and if not, then next year.” FC Bayern will only take negotiations with VfB Stuttgart after the end of the club World Cup.
The German record champions are looking for numerous cancellations, including DFB star Florian Wirtz, and the departure of Leroy Sané for a top-class new addition to the offensive.
