Officially: FC Bayern signed goalkeeper Urbig

FC Bayern has strengthened in the goalkeeper position. The German record champion announced Jonas Urbig’s commitment on Monday. The 21-year-old comes from second division club 1. FC Köln and signed a contract until 2029.

I am proud to be here now and look forward to getting to know my new team as quickly as possible,” said Urbig in a club announcement by the Munich team. “My goal is to work professionally on me every day and to develop me in our goalkeeper group to constantly develop Manuel Neuer.”
Spot director Christoph Freund emphasized: “We are very pleased that we were able to implement another transfer with a view of the future with Jonas Urbig. He is one of the most promising young goalkeepers in German football, very ambitious and has huge potential.” Urbig is a modern goalkeeper, “which of his way, how he interprets the goalkeeper game, fits very well with the playing style of FC Bayern.”
According to “Bild”, the goalkeeper talent comes to Munich for a transfer fee of seven million euros. There are also three million possible bonus payments. Urbig is likely to be built to the successor to Manuel Neuer at Bayern.

Urbig played in Cologne since his youth and went through all the club’s junior teams.
