FC Bayern is under pressure in the Bundesliga after three games without a win in a row. Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic publicly expressed his full confidence in head coach Julian Nagelsmann despite the tense situation on Säbener Straße.
“Julian and I exchange information constantly, I follow his development almost every day. In the three games without a win at the beginning of the year I experienced him calmly, confidently and analytically. The relationship with the boys is intact,” said the club official in an interview with “Bild on Sunday”.
Most recently, FC Bayern only played 1-1 three times in a row in the Bundesliga. The pursuers around Union Berlin, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt have already approached the German record champions.
Nevertheless, Nagelsmann is not up for discussion at Bayern Munich – quite the opposite. “I can say: We are really happy that we have Julian. For us, the cooperation is not an annual project, but we see him as a trainer with whom we plan for years and want to be successful,” Salihamidzic said plainly.
Pioneering weeks for FC Bayern
Nagelsmann is “incredibly ambitious”. “There is hardly another such ambitious young coach in the world,” enthused Salihamidzic from the Munich coach.
Nagelsmann switched from Bundesliga competitor RB Leipzig to Säbener Straße in the summer of 2021. In Munich, the 35-year-old, like his predecessors, will ultimately be measured by success.
In the Bundesliga, FC Bayern can overtake Union Berlin again on Sunday. They reached the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup last week. In the Champions League, the round of 16 duel with Paris Saint-Germain is fast approaching. For Nagelsmann it will be anything but boring at FC Bayern.
