FC Bayern has Steven Bergwijn on the list: agent confirms contact

Because Bayern’s Kingsley Coman was injured at the weekend, an Ajax star could now help. His advisor confirmed the contact in Munich.

FC Bayern have already announced two new signings in this transfer phase: Sacha Boey and Eric Dier. It is quite possible that the Munich team will strike a third time. Due to Kingsley Coman’s knee injury, which he sustained at the weekend in Augsburg, there is now a need for action on the offensive side.

Bryan Zaragoza from Granada FC has already been confirmed as a new signing for the coming season. Those responsible for the German record champions are now considering bringing the player to Germany earlier. According to a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Granada is said to have asked Bayern to make an official offer for the 22-year-old’s immediate move. Zaragoza has already agreed to the deal.

The Spaniard is considered Plan A for Bayern one day before the end of the winter transfer window. But if the deal doesn’t go through, the club has an alternative in mind. And that’s what it’s all about: According to reports, it’s the Munich team’s turn to Steven Bergwijn.

Bergwijn advisor: “We have a good relationship with Bavaria”

The offensive man is under contract with Ajax Amsterdam. Bergwijn has been under contract with the traditional Dutch club since 2022. Ajax paid 30 million euros for his services. Bergwijn is now even captain.

But a move to Munich is definitely possible. Although the Dutch newspaper “De Telegraaf” recently considered the deal to be unlikely, Bergwijn’s advisor Nathan van Kooperen now spoke to the pay-TV broadcaster Sky and spoke of contact with Bayern management.

“I can confirm that Bayern spoke to us and checked Steven’s situation,” said Kooperen. “We have a good and serious relationship with Bayern. They have known him for many years. A possible transfer depends on various things.” Probably mainly depends on whether Zaragoza is allowed to move to Munich or not.

And: According to “Sky”, a loan from Bergwijn is not an issue. Ajax would only sell the player. He is under contract in Amsterdam until 2027.
