FC Bayern bag their next deal: Storm talent comes from Sweden

FC Bayern dealt with a few issues on the last transfer day. Including the change of a young striker.

FC Bayern has signed the 16-year-old Jonah Kusi-Asare from AIK Solna. The young Swede is moving to Munich with immediate effect, but will first play in the youth ranks.

The 1.96 meter tall striker is already allowed to train with the professionals. The offensive player’s consulting agency posted a photo on Instagram with Kusi-Asare and sports director Christoph Freund. It shows the shirt number 9, which he will wear in the junior team.

“Striker with enormous potential”

In a statement from FC Bayern, Freund is quoted as saying: “Jonah Kusi-Asare is a young striker with enormous potential. He had a few offers, but he consciously chose FC Bayern because we were able to convince him like we did want to build and develop it with us.”

Freund continues enthusiastically: “He has all the requirements, is technically strong, fast, tall, physically very robust even at a young age and has an excellent goal finisher.”

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the transfer fee is around 6.5 million euros. Kusi-Asare is considered a versatile center forward and could therefore learn a lot from Harry Kane, who is currently the undisputed regular in Bayern’s forward line. When it came to recruiting the Scandinavians’ U17 international, the Munich team prevailed against Manchester United and Chelsea FC.

Kusi-Asare has already made four short appearances in the Swedish “Allsvenskan” for the professionals from AIK Solna. But he didn’t score a goal in just over 60 minutes. That should change at FC Bayern when he makes his debut.
