FC Bayern are keen on SC Freiburg defenders

FC Bayern strengthened themselves in the winter with Eric Dier for the central defense and Sacha Boey for the right wing. Nevertheless, the Munich team apparently has another defensive player firmly in their sights. The view goes to SC Freiburg.

Defender Kiliann Sildillia from SC Freiburg is on FC Bayern’s list. This is what “Sport Bild” reports.

The 21-year-old was already considered a candidate for the German record champions last summer. However, the young Frenchman was viewed more as a player for the future by FC Bayern’s transfer committee, which was set up at the time, “Bild” reported. However, the Munich team were looking for an immediate solution after the departure of several defensive players.

The seven-time U21 national player is now an undisputed regular player at the sports club. In the current season, Sildillia has already played 26 competitive games, 21 of which he started.

The 1.86 meter tall defender is also important for his head coach Christian Streich because he can play both in the center of defense and on the right side.

Will FC Bayern pay a record fee?

According to “Sport Bild”, a transfer would probably not be cheap for a potential interested party. Sildillia only extended his contract in Freiburg in April 2023.

As usual, the Breisgauers did not provide any information about the term of the new working paper, but it is conceivable that the defender has committed himself to the Bundesliga club until 2026.

The sports paper speculates that SC Freiburg will set a new club record with the transfer fee if the youngster is sold. Kevin Schade set up the current one last summer when he moved to Brentford FC (25 million euros).

Sildillia had trained at Ligue 1 club FC Metz. In the summer of 2020 he moved to SC Freiburg, where he initially gained experience in the second team. In October 2021, the Frenchman celebrated his Bundesliga debut under Christian Streich.
