FC Bayern announces surprising triple extension

In the future, FC Bayern wants to focus more on its own young talent. In keeping with this, the contracts of three promising talents have now been extended at once.

As the Munich team announced, Vincent Manuba, Grayson Dettoni and Maximilian Schuhbauer will all remain with the club until 2026. The first two mentioned are currently playing for the second team in the Bavarian Regional League, Schuhbauer for the U19.

“We are pleased that we were able to extend the contracts with these boys. All three have been with us at the academy for a long time and have been playing for our youth teams for many years,” campus director Halil Altintop was quoted as saying.

The former professional is convinced that the three youngsters will soon be ready to move up internally. “Vince and Grayson have already had a few appearances with our amateurs, Max, a 2006 player, plays regularly in our U19s,” emphasized Altintop.

Now FC Bayern are “excited about their further development steps,” he added.

FC Bayern wants to further promote campus players

Manuba moved to FCB in 2016. In the current season, the right-back has made a total of 20 appearances for the U23 and U19 teams.

Central defender Dettoni has been playing at the FC Bayern Campus since 2017. The American came to Germany with his family at the age of ten.

Schuhbauer has been at FC Bayern since 2019 and has been through all of the youth teams since then. In 2023/2024, the right-back will make 13 appearances in the Junior Bundesliga and the UEFA Youth League.

Whether the teenagers have a perspective in the record champions’ professional team coached by Thomas Tuchel remains to be seen.

Under the experienced coach, several campus players have celebrated their Bundesliga debut in recent months, including Frans Krätzig and Aleksandar Pavlovic.
