FC Bayern and Co. with chances? Confusion about Xavi Simons’ future

Xavi Simons, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, is currently causing a sensation at RB Leipzig – so much so that FC Bayern are also looking to get him involved. After it was recently said that Simons was not for sale at PSG in the summer, other information is now leaking out.

As the renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano writes in his “Daily Briefing”, Simons’ future is currently still completely open. A sale is therefore not off the table either. PSG is happy with the loan of the 20-year-old Dutchman to Leipzig, said Romano.

According to the Italian reporter, Arsenal FC’s interest in Simons is “nothing new”. The Gunners have been monitoring the youngster since last summer.

What you see should definitely impress you: Simons has played 27 competitive games for RB Leipzig so far. He scored seven goals and nine assists. The trade magazine “kicker” ranked the shooting star in its traditional “Rankings of German Football” in the attacking midfield behind Bayer Leverkusen’s super talent Florian Wirtz (“world class”) in second place (“international class”).

RB Leipzig: Xavi Simons “on the list” at FC Bayern

“Bild” reporter Christian Falk also recently suggested in his column for the “CaughtOffside” portal that PSG could be ready to sell Simons in the summer.

FC Bayern has him “on the list”, but there are “many players” in the focus of the German record champions. In addition, Simons will probably become “particularly expensive” if he changes.

“I think that other clubs will also knock on the door, Leipzig has heard of interest from Bayern and Arsenal. That could be one of the clubs,” Falk continued.

Simons’ market value is currently estimated at around 70 million euros. His contract with PSG runs until June 30, 2027.

The French signed him from FC Barcelona in 2019 and then let him move to PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer in 2022. Last summer they brought Simons back for four million euros thanks to a buyback clause.
