The article appeared in the first version on June 26 and was continuously updated on the 27th, most recently with the demand on Woltemade before the U21 European Championship final (sixth and seventh paragraph).
FC Bayern and striker Nick Woltemade agree on a common future on Thursday evening – and from this summer. Most recently, VfB Stuttgart, where the 23-year-old has only been under contract since last year, had rejected all interested parties. The Munich club president Herbert Hainer later commented reluctantly, but now one wanted to approach the Swabians promptly.
After the strong season with VfB, his debut in the A national team and the sensational appearances Woltemades at the U21 European Championship, his name is on everyone’s lips. In Stuttgart, the native of Bremen and ex-Werderaner is still bound until 2028. “We’re going to the next season with Nick,” said board boss Alexander Wehrle recently to the “Stuttgarter Zeitung” and the “Stuttgarter Nachrichten”. FC Bayern is not the only prospect for the young professional.
With the Munich team, Woltemade is said to have agreed orally, as could be heard at “Sky” on Thursday evening. Later, other media such as the Munich “Abendzeitung” also reported on the player’s wish. According to the TV station, it is about a contract until 2030. The striker’s salary is also negotiated. Bavaria’s supervisory board gave the green light. According to the “AZ”, Woltemade officially wanted to inform his club promptly. The record champion has not yet tried negotiations with VfB, which has made its point of view clear. Woltemade does not have an exit clause, often the Achilles’ heel of VfB in squad planning in recent years.

According to information from “Bild” newspaper from Friday morning had been intensive discussions between Bavaria’s sports director Max Eberl and Woltemades consultant Danny Bachmann last week. The Stuttgart people had known nothing and were surprised and annoyed by the reports on Thursday. According to the report, VfB talks with Woltemade recently stalled over a higher content; 2.5 million instead of 1.5 million euros. After a long radio silence, Woltemade made it clear that he did not want to accept the offer. Now the club will soon be taught to Woltemades Bayern wish. And Bayern also want to contact VfB promptly and get into negotiations for a summer change as soon as possible.
The fact that the Stuttgarters get involved seems to be difficult at the moment. According to the “Bild”, sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth repeated the rejection of a sale. “The fact that others have not been hidden and can now be read about the interest of other clubs almost every day does not change the fact that Nick’s path is far from over,” the official is cited. “We are planning firmly with Nick and want to benefit from his sporting qualities in the coming year. There is no alternative planning scenario.”
Only sporting questions allowed: Woltemade cannot be elicited
Update June 27, 4:50 p.m.: Woltemade was not allowed and wanted to look at the cards on Friday afternoon and therefore one day before the final of the U21 European Championship. Right at the beginning of the press conference with the attacker and junior national coach Antonio di Salvo, the responsible UEFA spokesman made it clear that only questions about the game against England (9 p.m.) were allowed. Nevertheless, Woltemade was asked what the headlines would do with him shortly before the final. “I’m really looking forward to the final,” replied the striker. It was a unique opportunity. “That will be my last U21 game.”
When asked whether the reports that he had already agreed with Bayern, would do something with him and had an impact on his performance, the UEFA spokesman initially rejected the only permitted sporting questions with the reference. Ultimately, Woltemade said only about the topic: “There are always things that are around you, that affects not only me, but also other players.”
FC Bayern: Hainer, friend and Pavlovic commented on Woltemade
Bayern President Hainer had commented on a possible deal with Woltemade on Thursday evening. “He plays a very, very good season. But whether he plays for Bavaria is in the stars,” he said on the sidelines of his Munich-based basketball final against Ulm. “I can’t tell you anything about that. I can only say that the Nick Woltemade developed well at VfB and we as Germany fans are happy that it plays in the U21 and does so many goals.”

TM up close! To the report …
“Nick is a good friend of mine. And of course I would be happy,” DFB colleague Aleksandar Pavlovic from FC Bayern recently said about the possibility of a Woltemade change to Munich and also attracted attention by adding: “I have already done a few fun (over a change) with him. We will see what is going on in the future.” And yes, Pavlovic is already there. At the Nations League final tournament, the two young professionals played together in the national team for the first time.
“I don’t even know that the two know each other so well. I hear that for the first time,” Bayern’s sports director Christoph Freund reacted to the statements of Pavlovics after the last group game at the club World Cup against Benfica Lisbon (0: 1) in Charlotte. For him, however, it was normal for him to “chat with each other”. “If the two get along well, it certainly doesn’t hurt.” Woltemade games “Very good, is in a really good shape. He is a young German player who is very, very interesting,” says friend.
At the U21 European Championship, at the Woltemade with the German selection on Saturday, the Stuttgart meter scored in each of his previous games: six goals in four missions. He also netted in the 3-0 in the semi -finals against France. On Saturday (9 p.m.) England is waiting in the final in Bratislava.
