FC Bayern | After injuries: Do Bayern prefer a summer transfer?

A number of players are currently unavailable at FC Bayern. Including some offensive players. That’s why the bosses are probably looking at various options.

After Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman will also be out for weeks at FC Bayern. This is said to have prompted the bosses to examine various options. According to the TV channel Sky, one possibility is to bring summer newcomer Bryan Zaragoza from FC Granada to Munich in the winter. The Spaniard had already signed in Munich at the end of 2023 and will join the record champions in the summer.

FC Bayern management has already informed Granada’s management about the idea, but has not yet made an offer. The transfer window is open until Thursday evening.

Sports director Christoph Freund confirmed the thought process on Tuesday: “Bryan will definitely be a Bayern Munich player from the summer. We have the situation that we have a lot of injuries. We are in discussions about whether it would be possible to bring him in earlier. We We’ll see what the next few days bring.”

Freund also answered t-online’s query as to whether Zaragoza was the only option: “It’s not at all certain that we’ll do anything else in the winter.” So he couldn’t say anything specific.

Which speaks for the transfer

According to “Bild”, Serge Gnabry will be missing from FC Bayern for around three weeks. How long it will take the national player to get back into shape after a break of several months remains to be seen. As for Kingsley Coman, it will probably be at least two months before the Frenchman is available again.

Two wingers, Leroy Sané and Mathys Tel, are still available, but there is a lack of quality across the board as coach Thomas Tuchel may have to rely on youth players. Given the top game against Bayer Leverkusen in a week and a half, that could increase the pressure.

What speaks against the transfer

After signing with FC Bayern, Zaragoza told “Bild”: “In discussions with those responsible, I explained that I wanted the move, but that I wanted to stay in Granada until the end of the season. Because this is the club I love and I want them to stay in the league first secure before I go.”

In addition, Bayern would probably have to pay a certain amount to Granada. With the transfers of Sacha Boey and Eric Dier, Bayern have already invested almost 40 million euros including salaries.

Even if two important offensive players, Gnabry and Coman, are missing, in addition to Sané and Tel, Raphaël Guerreiro and Alphonso Davies would also be options for coach Tuchel on the left offensive wing until Gnabry returns.
