After his fifth yellow card this season, Harry Kane is closed to Bayern’s master matchball in Leipzig. The striker does not agree with that.

However, the most successful striker of the German Oberhaus does not like that at all. “Firstly, this is a crazy decision. It is never a yellow card. Unfortunately, some people come to the Allianz Arena to make a name for themselves there,” said the Englishman after the game in the stadium mixed zone – and thus alluded to the decision by referee Bastian Dankert.

In the stoppage time of the first half, Kane did not gave the ball after a foul after a duel with the Mainz Jonathan Burkardt and was therefore warned by Dankert. “It was never a foul,” complained Kane: “And it is disappointing to miss a big game.”

According to the rule in the Bundesliga since the 1993/94 season, Kane has now been blocked. In the top game at the current fourth in the table from Leipzig, in which Bayern could crown themselves early as German champion.

“I am really disappointed that I got the yellow card, because of course I knew that I already had four. And secondly, I find the rule crazy anyway. Five yellow cards in 34 games mean a lock. This is crazy,” formulated Kane about the rule.

And immediately pushed a suggestion to how it would be better with the yellow barriers: “You should reset after 18 games,” suggested the captain of the English national team. “You should regulate the new one like in the Premier League. I miss an important game because I got a yellow card in the first game of the season. That doesn’t make sense. Maybe you should think about it for the future.”

In his home country, this is really handled and the cards collected deleted at the season half. In Germany, however, the rule from 1979 to 1993 was even strict: During this time, four yellow cards were enough for a lock. So whether Kane will be successful with his proposal seems rather unlikely. A constructive approach is in any case.

Kane will probably only experience the first title of his career after 14 years in Leipzig as a spectator in the stands and not on the pitch. He immediately made it clear that he would still compete with the team with the team. “It’s a bit of my story that I miss the game in Leipzig,” he said. “But it doesn’t mean that I don’t win the title. Don’t worry, I will celebrate more than everyone else.”
