FC Barcelona: Ter Stegen makes future decision

According to Spanish media reports, national goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has agreed on a pension contract with FC Barcelona.

As Marca reports, the 31-year-old will promptly extend his working paper, which was previously limited to 2025, by three years to 2028. In a conversation with Barca’s leadership around the new sports director Deco, an agreement was reached.

Ter Stegen joined the Catalans from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2014 and is in his tenth season at Barca.

In his third season (2016/17), the Gladbach native became number one in the club and has been undisputed ever since. When winning the championship in 2022/23, Ter Stegen showed outstanding performance.

With currently 256 appearances in the Primera Division, he should become a German record player in the medium term.

Bernd Schuster (316) and Toni Kroos (274), who is still tied with Real Madrid until 2024, are currently ahead of Ter Stegen.
