FC Barcelona: Pedri scores in the 100th game – Ousmane Dembélé is out

Ter Stegen back to zero

FC Barcelona has extended its lead in LaLiga with a win at FC Girona, at least for the time being. Barça won the Catalonia derby 1-0 (0-0) on Saturday. Spain international Pedri scored the decisive goal in the 61st minute, playing his 100th game for Barça at just 20 years and two months – only Bojan Krkic (32) reached that mark faster. Ansu Fati was allowed to play as a replacement for the suspended Robert Lewandowski.

Girona hardly allowed any chances over long stretches, so the favorite struggled for a long time. DFB goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen again kept a clean sheet. Barcelona are now unbeaten in 13 competitive matches. The last defeat so far was the 0:3 in the Champions League against FC Bayern on October 26th. Barça are now six points ahead of Real Madrid in the championship. The “Royal” host Real Sociedad San Sebastián on Sunday evening and can reduce the gap to three points with a win.
