According to information from ESPN, FC Barcelona is making significant playing moves next summer as it wants to build a new player base and reduce salary expenses.

Blaugrana would be wiping out the core players of the team’s successful years Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alban, Sergi Roberto and Gerard Piqué. Out of the four, Busquets and Roberto are the easiest to get out of the club, as both contracts expire this season.

Instead, Alba and Piqué are tied to Barcelona for next season, so Catalonia is thinking about possible buyer candidates for them. Finding a buyer for Piqué in particular can be tricky, as the Central Defender enjoys a gigantic salary thanks to his contract.

Piqué, 36, and Busquets, 34, are the most experienced players in their team. They were both the faces of the starting line-up more than 12 years ago, when Barcelona’s tiki-taka football Lionel Messi’s with the accompaniment, sowed terror in the football fields of Europe. Busquets often operates in Barcelona’s midfield Andrés Iniesta and the club’s current head coach Xavi as a company.

Roberto, 30, and Alba, 33, joined Barcelona’s first team later but have also enjoyed a Champions League triumph and several LaLiga titles.

According to ESPN, Barcelona would also be looking for a buyer for a midfielder For Frenkie de Jong. There were already attempts to sell the Dutchman during the summer, but the player was not willing to leave at that time. If de Jong’s mind has changed and he wants to go elsewhere already in the January transfer window, there are several interested clubs in the Premier League.

Following De Jong are at least Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool.
