FC Augsburg has to do without captain Jeffrey Gouweleeuw for a few weeks. The 34 -year -old central defender suffered an inner ligament tear in the right knee in the home game against the 1st FSV Mainz 05. After 67 minutes he had to be replaced by 1: 4 against the Rheinhessen. Previously, the Dutch did not miss a minute for the FCA this season.
Gouweleeuw has been active for Fuggerstadt since 2016, so he is by far the elder professional in the team. So far, there are 277 missions (7 goals, 12 templates), which means that he is in second place in the club’s reakord player ranking. Only Daniel Baier still stands in front of the veteran.
