FC Augsburg is looking at another new signing and also has to deal with a possible sale. According to consistent reports, there is an agreement with Alanyaspor for striker Uchenna Ogundu (19), whose move from Turkey to FCA is set to be finalized on Sunday. Meanwhile, various sources in Istanbul reported an offer from Besiktas for Augsburg’s homegrown player Mert Kömür (20).

Regarding Ogundu, transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano initially reported a fundamental agreement on Saturday. “Sky” confirmed during Augsburg’s home game against St. Pauli that the change was about to be completed. Ogundu has scored three goals and prepared two goals for Alanyaspor in 20 competitive games so far. Before his summer move to the Süper Lig, the Nigerian contributed six goals and two assists in 19 games for Sanliurfaspor – then still in the second division.
Besiktas’ offer for Kömür, which according to Sky was received on Saturday, was for a basic amount of 10 million euros. Looking at Augsburg’s transfer history, that would be the sixth highest selling price for a player, but is still below Kömür’s market value. This rose from 5 million to 12 million euros over the course of the season. However, the transfer volume could possibly increase to this level with an additional 2 million euros in bonuses, as reporter Yağız Sabuncuoğlu can hear from Turkey.
FC Augsburg advises on the sale of Kömür
According to Sky, Augsburg will look into Besiktas’ offer after the game against St. Pauli. Kömür initially sat on the bench in the game – as he had in the last three Bundesliga games. The Dachau native was only part of the starting line-up ten times in the first half of the season. Since joining the FCA professionals, Kömür has scored five goals and four assists in 46 appearances. If he were to leave, he would be the highest-paying sale of a homegrown product based on the transfer fee. Kömür’s contract in Augsburg is valid until 2029.
In Turkey the transfer window does not close until February 6th. However, the longer change period won’t help Besiktas much with Kömür if the Augsburg team decides against selling due to a lack of a replacement. The FCA can still register new entries until Monday evening.
