FBI director surprises with a club tie

At an important political appointment, the FBI director was surprised with a sporty accessory. The choice of garment also appears surprising on another level.

At a Senate hearing on Tuesday in Washington, FBI director Kash Patel noticed with his unusual choice of clothing. Like usual, Patel carried a suit with a tie – but it was particularly out. While the tie was inconspicuously made of red fabric with white stripes at first glance, the coat of arms of the English club FC Liverpool was clearly recognizable when you take a closer look.

Patel was not wearing such an accessory for the first time. Already on two other occasions he appeared with a Liverpool tie-but with wider stripes than in the current version. The FBI director therefore seems to have several ties from the club. The choice is surprising that Patel has never publicly known himself as a supporter of the Premier League club.

However, the political contrast is striking: Patel is a confidante of the strongly right-wing US President Donald Trump. However, FC Liverpool is generally considered to be left -wing and the city of Liverpool is also considered to be relatively left -handed city in England.
