The Casketball European Championship is over for co-favorite France. That could be good news for the German basketball players.
France failed surprisingly early at the SEM basketball. The Olympic second of Paris 2024 lost its round of 16 against Georgia in Riga with 70:80 (37:38) and thus missed the quarter -finals. Spain and Serbia had already left the tournament prematurely.
For Georgia, it continues against Finland. The Finns had thrown out the competition on Saturday with a 92:86 success of Serbia around NBA star Nikola Jokic. Spain, European champion from 2022, had already left in the preliminary round.
France, which started without Victor Wembanyama, disappointed over long distances. The winner of the Duel Finland against Georgia could meet Germany in the semi -finals. The world champion previously meets Italy or Slovenia in the quarterfinals. Because both Finland and Georgia cannot be assessed as much as France, this is not bad news for Germany.
