Father of deceased German fitness influencer (30) wants to launch perfume that smells like his son smelled | Abroad

The father of German fitness influencer Johannes ‘Jo’ Lindner (30) – better known as Joesthetics – who died suddenly last year, wants to launch a perfume that smells like his son used to smell. He reports this on a special Instagram page dedicated to his son.

Lindner died on June 30 last year from an aneurysm, a widening in an artery that ruptured. He was staying in Thailand with his girlfriend at the time. According to her, he had been having pain in his neck for three days. His more than eight million Instagram followers and almost a million YouTube subscribers reacted with dismay to the news.

Four weeks ago, Joesthetics’ father, mother and sister started a special Instagram page that is completely dedicated to him and keeps him in mind. They then announced that a biography of the man would be released and a perfume line dedicated to him.

“Jo always smelled very nice,” he says. “He was obsessed with perfume. He tried and combined different scents all the time. It started when he was still a young teenager and he used his father’s perfumes to smell his daddy. He was without a doubt the best-smelling student in school.”

It became a shared passion of father and son. “His clothes, backpacks, absolutely everything we have of him smells like him,” the family continues. “Every time we go through his stuff, we smell him and feel connected to him. We want to share that with you.”

Money

For the perfume line, the family works with “a small perfume manufacturer”. “We are currently working together on developing the right scent that smells just like Jo,” he added.

The family claims they aren’t doing it for the money and promise that “a portion of the proceeds” will go to charity and be used to support athletes who are less fortunate than others.
