FASHION X CRAFT – goes into the second round!

Young designers can apply from now until November 27, 2022. The winners will be announced at Berlin Fashion Week from January 16 to 21, 2023.

The call for applications for the FASHION X CRAFT funding program from the Fashion Council Germany in partnership with the Swarovski Foundation and The Prince’s Foundation is now open to applicants. Graduates from the field of fashion and textile design with a focus on sustainability can apply for the program from now until November 27, 2022. The six winners will be presented to the public at the upcoming Berlin Fashion Week between January 16 and 21, 2023. Like their predecessors from the first year, the young designers will benefit from workshops, webinars and coaching from and with international experts lasting several months.

This allows them to make progress towards sustainability in their design processes. Among other things, they will be trained in various crafts such as basket weaving, decorative plasterwork and traditional wood carving during a three week residency in July 2/4 2023 at Barley Court, the Prince’s Foundation’s new educational facility in Gloucestershire, England. Barley Court is managed by the charity, as is the adjacent Highgrove Gardens, a popular visitor attraction.

The offer is aimed exclusively at fashion and textile design graduates who graduated no more than one year ago. Applicants must strive to actively shape and transform the future of the fashion industry and must be based in Germany during the project phase. The areas of interest sustainability, craftsmanship and innovation are fundamental requirements.

CANDITATURE:

The applicants have six weeks to submit their application and can upload it to the Fashion Council Germany website from now until Sunday, November 27, 2022, 11:59 p.m.
