Farmers protest again at home of Minister Van der Wal
A group of protesting farmers gathered again on Monday evening at the home of Minister Christianne van der Wal (Nature and Nitrogen). The minister is not at home herself, a spokesperson for the minister said.
This is the second time that farmers have protested at the minister’s home in Gelderland. They do not agree with the government’s nitrogen policy. When these plans were presented more than two weeks ago, they also went to Van der Wal’s house.
At the time, the action was strongly condemned by politicians. The cabinet called demonstrations at a minister’s home unacceptable. But there is nothing you can do about it as long as nothing criminal happens. The police placed a security post at the residence on Monday.
