FARMERS FRANCE PARIS | French farmers call to blockade Paris from Monday

Two major guilds of agricultural sector French announced a “encirclement of the capital” from Monday to denounce their difficult economic situation. This action will take place after more than a week of protests of agricultural producers throughout the country, despite the concessions made by the government on Friday.

“From Monday the 29th at 2:00 p.m. [13H00 GMT] the farmers (….) will set up a siege of the capital for a unlimited duration“, announced two of the main agricultural union centers in France, including the powerful FNSEA. “All the big axes that lead to the capital will be busy for the farmers,” they added in the short text.

The first Minister, Gabriel Attalpromised on Friday the suppression of the increase in diesel prices for agricultural use and reaffirmed its opposition upon the signing of the agreement between the European Union and the Mercosurformed by South American agricultural powers (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay).
