Farewell in summer possible? Glasner future still open

Eintracht Frankfurt is in crisis in the Bundesliga. In addition, the future of head coach Oliver Glasner is still open – and a farewell cannot be ruled out.

Eintracht Frankfurt wants to extend Glasner’s contract early. The Austrian is currently tied to the SBU until 2024. However, the 48-year-old is reluctant to sign the new working paper.

According to “kicker”, an agreement between Glasner and Eintracht Frankfurt is “not impossible”. However, “it is also possible to say goodbye this summer,” according to the specialist magazine.

According to “Sport Bild”, Glasner’s consultants are currently exploring the market. The Frankfurt trainer is said to be on the list even at Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid.

At the beginning of March, Glasner himself confirmed to the “Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung” that he had already received “requests from the Premier League” in the course of his coaching career. But he rejected all of them.

Eintracht Frankfurt in crisis

First of all, the Europa League winner wants to concentrate on the upcoming tasks with Eintracht Frankfurt. The Hessians are currently in a crisis.

With 40 points, the Frankfurters rank sixth in the Bundesliga table. The gap to the Champions League ranks is already six points. In addition, Eintracht had to give up in the premier class round of 16 against SSC Napoli.

After the recent 2-0 defeat at Union Berlin, Glasner was taciturn. “Had, ifs and buts. I’m careful, because everything I say today can and will be used against me. And that’s why it’s better to keep my mouth shut today,” said the SBU coach.

After the international break, Eintracht Frankfurt will continue in the Bundesliga against VfL Bochum (March 31, 8:30 p.m.).
