Fans describe the attack by Hools from Eintracht Frankfurt

A few days ago, supporters of Eintracht Frankfurt are said to have brutally attacked a group of Munich fans before the Bundesliga game at Bayern (1-1). While the police are investigating, the members of the young Bayern fan club have now spoken out.

The travel group of the Winkelberg Westheim fan club had certainly imagined this journey very differently. About three hours before the whistle of the Saturday evening game of the 18th matchday between FC Bayern and Eintracht Frankfurt, which ended 1-1, the fans of the German record champions were attacked by two buses full of SGE hooligans when they stopped on the A9 motorway.

The whole incident happened at the Köschinger Forst rest area. The fan club, which was founded around three years ago, has now explained to “Bild” exactly how the attack took place.

“Shortly after we had set up the beer table on the side of the bus facing the sidewalk, two buses with supporters of Eintracht stopped [aus] Frankfurt directly in front of and behind our bus in such a way that it would not have been possible for us to continue,” was the beginning of a letter in which the people from Winkelberg Westheim, who were apparently surrounded, described the course of events.

“The occupants of one bus, some of them masked, all got out and headed straight for our members,” it said.

The fan club suspected that SGE supporters mistook them for being Ultras. The rivalry between some groups often leads to escalation.

“The[s] At least two of our members wore south curve sweaters and silk scarves was apparently enough reason for the people of Frankfurt to surround the two doors of the bus with the members.” After that, attempts at robbery began, during which the Eintracht Hools also broke the nose of a fan club member.

FC Bayern fan has to go to the hospital

“Although it was obvious that it couldn’t be an ultra group, after all there were also pensioners, children and women in our group, some supporters ran towards our members and tried to violently snatch all loose fan paraphernalia.”

The Winkelberg Westheimers, for their part, did everything they could to prevent the Frankfurt chaotic people from getting on the bus. “The last member remaining in front of the back door, this one without any fan clothing at all”, was then surrounded by the attackers and suddenly hit in the face.

The man had to be taken to the hospital and is said to be undergoing surgery shortly. The police, who only arrived when the Frankfurt hooligans had already fled, are currently investigating several cases of (attempted) robbery, breach of the peace and dangerous bodily harm.
