Fans are targeting Harry Potter and Voldemort

On this match day, fans once again held up crosshair posters. This time in his sights: probably the most famous magician in the world.

A week after the game was almost abandoned in Hamburg, Hannover 96 supporters once again held up a crosshair poster in the fan block during the second division home game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth. This time, however, the action was apparently not meant seriously, because the film face of the wizard Harry Potter (actor Daniel Radcliffe) from the novels by Joanne K. Rowling could be seen on the poster on Friday evening. Another banner below read: “Afraid, Potter?” Both posters were rolled up again after a few minutes.

The quote comes from the second Harry Potter part “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”. The words “Scared, Potter?” says Harry’s arch-rival Draco Malfoy before a duel. His answer: “Keep dreaming.”

Both fan camps may have agreed before the game, because the guests from Fürth targeted Harry Potter’s most dangerous opponent, Lord Voldemort. The game was finally interrupted in the 51st minute when fans from the Hannover block threw tennis balls onto the field, whereupon referee Patrick Ittrich sent the players to the dressing room.

A week ago, the northern duel between Hamburger SV and Hannover 96 was about to be canceled because Hannover fans showed crosshair banners with the faces of 96 managing director Martin Kind and a representative of each of the two potential DFL investors at the time, CVC and Blackstone had. The game only continued after the posters were removed. Blackstone has since withdrawn.

There were also protests again in Berlin. Shortly before stoppage time began, Berlin fans threw tennis balls onto the field, as they did two weeks ago in the game against HSV and in the game between Hannover and Fürth. After a few minutes of waiting, referee Florian Exner sent the players into the dressing room early before the second half continued with the four minutes of stoppage time in the first half.
