Rammstein now also available as cuddly toys? Looks like this at first glance from their latest Instagram posts. The band released a video on Tuesday, February 24, depicting all members as crocheted dolls. But what is it actually about?
Fan gifts will be published
The caption says it all: Rammstein opens its fan archive. All fan gifts that the Berliners have received over the last 30 years will be exhibited there. What was previously only visible to the musicians themselves can now be seen by everyone – starting with the crocheted dolls of the individual band members.
How is that received?
The fans are celebrating. Praise comments are piling up under the latest Instagram video. The idea and dolls were well received by followers – from “Thank you for sharing your fans’ art!” to “I was hoping you would sell these!” Apparently the dolls are a trend, as many fans post pictures of their own crocheted Rammstein members under the posts on Instagram and Facebook. The dolls are even available for sale online.
However, some fans are disappointed and had expected a bigger announcement from Rammstein – for example about a new song or a tour.
Does Rammstein still have fans?
Comments like “adult toys that should have been better behaved” dampen the excitement a bit. However, the feedback is not really negative – which is surprising after the band got into a major scandal at the end of 2023. Till Lindemann was accused of abusing power towards young female fans. To this day, Till Lindemann denies all allegations. The investigations against him were also dropped, but the band lost some listeners as a result.
The true Rammstein fans apparently don’t care about these allegations, and enough fans still regularly send gifts. Interesting to see what else will end up in the fan archive in the near future. Rammstein hasn’t posted much information about it yet – and who knows what fan gifts have accumulated in the band’s 32 years of history.
