The investigation into the family drama in Etten-Leur was completed on Monday. A 41-year-old man and his 9-year-old daughter were killed last week. The girl’s mother was seriously injured.
The Public Prosecution Service assumes that the man stabbed his wife and child and then took his own life. After all possible causes have been investigated, this remains the most likely. The case is thus closed.
The man was found dead around five o’clock on Friday morning, outside the family’s house on Leurse Dijk. Inside, the officers found a seriously injured girl and a woman. The girl died of her injuries that night. Her mother is out of danger.
As far as the police know, the family was not known to aid agencies, the judiciary or the police.
