The second season of “Fallout” starts on December 17th on Prime Video. All 8 episodes appear weekly on Wednesdays – here is an overview of all the information.
“Fallout” is back: Almost two years after the start of the first season, the sequel to the Amazon Prime video game adaptation will be released on Wednesday, December 17th. This time, however, there are some changes to the release format – and a location that might please fans of the video games.
Start date and release frequency
Almost 20 months after its debut in April 2024, “Fallout” is entering its second round. The first episode of season 2 will be available on Amazon Prime Video from December 17, 2025. The big difference from the first season: This time there is no complete release of all episodes at once. Instead, Amazon relies on a classic weekly publication model – new material appears every Wednesday.
Plus: The series doesn’t take a break over Christmas and New Year, but rather consistently maintains the rhythm. The new episodes are available from 9 a.m. German time.
Scope of the second season
Season 2 remains true to the scope of the debut season and also includes eight episodes. However, due to the weekly publication format, the second season extends over almost two months – the finale will not appear until February 4, 2026.

Plot and setting: Welcome to New Vegas
The second season takes the characters to a place that was already hinted at at the end of season 1 and has a special meaning for video game fans: New Vegas. The gambling metropolis, which was marked by nuclear war, is an essential setting for the game series and is likely to be well received by long-time fans.
The focus of the plot is once again the former Vault resident Lucy (played by Ella Purnell) and her new partner Cooper Howard, better known as the Ghoul (Walton Goggins). The two share a common goal: They are on the hunt for Lucy’s father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan).
The reason for their persecution: As a former executive of the powerful Vault-Tec corporation, Hank was significantly involved in the nuclear catastrophe that plunged the world into chaos over 200 years ago. What awaits Lucy and Cooper in the dangerous city of New Vegas and how the next confrontation with Hank will end is what the tension of the new episodes should be.
