Alfa Romeo C42 presented for the 2022 F1 world championship with the new couple formed by the Finnish Valtteri Bottas and the Chinese Guanyu Zhou. Vasseur: “We are confident to make the leap in quality”
The new Alfa Romeo has been unveiled for the 2022 F1 world championship, which had already been seen in action in the pre-season tests on the Spanish circuit of Montmelò, but in the camouflage livery. Now the colors are the definitive ones, with red and white prevailing and a nice tricolor on the rear wing. The Alfa Romeo C42, designed in Hinwil under the guidance of technical director Jan Monchaux, is radically different from the past, like all the new generation cars that have revived the ground effect, and is powered by the Ferrari power unit.

The livery, which takes its inspiration from the history of the Alfa Romeo and Sauber Motorsport brands, on the occasion of the thirtieth participation of the Hinwil team in the F1 world championship, was created by the Alfa Romeo Style Center. On the bonnet the historic Alfa Romeo lettering stands out, diagonally, which is a reference to the beginning of the century, when in the 1920s it appeared on the brand’s racing cars. Below is the inscription Tonale, the first compact SUV of the brand, recently presented and then the Quadrifoglio, symbol of the Group’s sportsmanship.

Valtteri Bottas, who arrived in Alfa from Mercedes, will have to take it to the top: “I am impressed by the new C42, it is my first Alfa Romeo F1 car and this makes it special: I am really looking forward to driving it in the Bahrain GP.
