Alpine skiing slalom: Meillard’s Wedel madness – Strasser blunders – alpine skiing – winter sports

Kristoffersen and Feller far behind

The icy slope gave some top drivers a hard time. Henrik Kristoffersen, winner of the first slalom on Saturday, is only seventh, 88 hundredths behind. The Austrian Manuel Feller, third in the first slalom, is 80 hundredths behind Meillard.

Linus Straßer not satisfied

Linus Straßer from Munich presented himself less well than in the first race on the training mountain of the German Ski Association (DSV). Minor mistakes meant that he lacked speed in the flat final section – he finished 1.27 seconds behind.

“No control over the skis”

“Everything was definitely a bit more restless”said Straßer after the run: “It wasn’t easy to get control of my skis, either too little grip or too much. I was never in a position to say I had a secure footing.”

“I have something on my mind”, said Straßer also with a view to the second run. Depending on the condition of the slopes, he wants to go back to his skiSet up file – and then attack.
