Minister Eddy van Hijum of Social Affairs and Employment will make additional financing available for border info points from 2025.
At these counters, people can get information about what is important if they start working, living, studying or doing business. There are currently 110 border info points spread over all border provinces.
Minister Van Hijum: “In the region, abroad is often very close. A large city where you are going to study is just in Belgium or Germany. Whether a new challenging job is on the other side of the border. Many people just do not oversee that there is all regulations that are just a little different on the other. The border info points do fantastic work to help people with that.
Every year the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW) releases € 615,058 extra. Including the existing financing, SZW will contribute € 1,558,808 to the border info points from 2025. This amounts to 50% of the costs. The other half is paid by regional parties, such as provinces, municipalities and labor market regions.
