Good news for FC Bayern: Klara Bühl will also play for the double winners next season. The 25-year-old confirmed this in an interview.
“I consciously decided to stay – despite the offers from abroad, which were very lucrative. Especially from England, where a lot is invested in bringing in good players and making the league attractive,” explained the sought-after national player, who is one of the top performers in Munich, to the “SID”.
She wants to “continue on the path with Bayern and this young, well-composed team and the coach and try to get even closer to the Champions League title,” added Bühl, who had only extended the contract until 2027 last year.
Of course, there was already interest back then, “and I also looked at alternatives. But in order to show my performance, this overall package with the feel-good factor is extremely important – and that fits at Bayern,” emphasized the winger.
Farewell to FC Bayern for a free transfer next year?
What will happen after the 2026/2027 season for Bühl, which has been regularly associated with FC Barcelona in particular, is still unclear. As of now, the regular player could leave FC Bayern for free in the summer of 2027.
“I am in a very good starting position and would like to keep all my options open,” emphasized Bühl, adding that she wanted to calmly think about “when the time has come for the next step.”
“In the end, it’s always about the overall package – and the right time. I’m excited to see how women’s football in general and my options will develop and what I’ll decide on,” she noted.
Since leaving SC Freiburg in the summer of 2020, Bühl has been playing for FC Bayern. During this time she won the German championship five times and the DFB Cup twice. The final stop for the Munich team this season was in the semi-finals of the Champions League against FC Barcelona.
