Thousands of demonstrators tonight showed their support for Israel following Hamas’ terror attacks this weekend. Several speeches took place and flowers and posters were laid.
“It was just so disgusting and horrible, I can’t sleep anymore,” said one of the attendees. “I have to come here. I now also have people there who are in the shelter, have lost people or are looking for people. I had to come here.”
Another also said it was important to come together. “Crying together, but also showing that we are strong. We are here for Israel but also for everyone who believes in freedom.”
The demonstration took place without major disturbances. The police were present as a precaution, including the so-called Peace Unit, which are officers who talk to demonstrators, and a drone team.
