Eight classrooms of the Titus Brandsmalyceum on Molenstraat in Oss were temporarily evacuated on Friday morning due to a possible explosive device in the schoolyard. According to the police, it is not a heavy explosive, but homemade fireworks.
The EOD examined the explosive and took it away. The premises were released again around a quarter to eleven.
The school saw on camera footage that something burning was thrown over the gate at half past eight on Thursday evening. The explosive did not go off.
The caretaker saw it the next morning and called the police. They then called the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service), after which it was decided to evacuate a number of rooms so that they could do their work safely.

Pipe wrapped in plastic
It was a pipe-shaped object that was wrapped in plastic. The explosive was taken away after investigation by the EOD.
According to Sandra Saris, director of the school, it is about rowdiness. “We have no suspicion that this would be a targeted action.”
According to Saris, there was no panic at school: “The students hardly noticed anything. We have a mobile-free school, so children are no longer exposed to anything so quickly. They were eventually informed by teachers.”
The police still do not know who is behind the action. Neighborhood research is being conducted.

The Titus Brandsmalyceum has a total of 1,500 students. The Christmas celebration at the high school continued as normal on Friday morning. “Students all brought delicious baked goods from home and celebrated Christmas together,” said Saris.
Previous bomb threat
Last year, five secondary schools in Oss, including the Titus Brandsmalyceum, were also evacuated due to a bomb threat. A student at the school then received an email about the bomb. Ultimately it turned out to be a false alarm.
