Werder Bremen wants to keep Niklas very long -term and extended the 30 -year -old defender’s contract, as the Bundesliga club announced on Thursday. The Weser had previously been tied strongly until 2026. The green-whites did not announce until when the new working paper is valid.
“Niklas has fulfilled the expectations in it in recent years, so it quickly became clear to us that we want to continue with him. He is a top performer and leader in our team and also plays an important role for the team next to the place. We are happy that he is convinced of the Werder-Weg and sees his future with us,” explained License Head Peter Niemeyer. Stark said: “I feel very comfortable with Werder and in the city. Sporty we have taken a really positive development in the past three years and I am convinced that this way has not yet ended.”
The native medium -born and former young players in Nuremberg was active at Hertha BSC for years before moving to the Weser in 2022. At Werder, he stood in 75 competitive games in the defense center in three seasons since then and also contributed two goals and two templates. In the past season, as in the previous, his role as a regular and temporary captain was interrupted by several minor injury breaks.
