Exes extort other ex 12,000 euros: up to two years in prison demanded

A man (23) and a woman (21) were demanded 24 and 20 months in prison for the court in Breda on Thursday. They allegedly blackmailed a 19-year-old woman from Roosendaal last October in the chalet of the 21-year-old woman in Wouwse Plantage. The Roosendaal woman was threatened with a firearm by the two and had to transfer money and withdraw money. In total more than 12,000 euros.

Kimberly (21) was the first to appear in court on Thursday afternoon. Her ex Haydar (23) had to appear before the judges later that afternoon, separately from her. Kimberly went straight to the point and said she was sorry. Something terrible had happened in her chalet and it should never have happened, she said.

But then a long search for the truth began, as the presiding judge described it. He had many questions, because Kimberly had often been naive or compliant.

Kimberly began to talk at length. A woman had called her some time before that day. He told her that Kimberly’s ex cheated on her when Kimberly was still with him. On the day of the extortion, Kimberly had agreed to meet her in her chalet in Wouwse Plantage To talk out all the lies, Kimberly stated.

But suddenly her ex Haydar was in front of her again after two months. He stayed with Kimberly the night before the extortion and wanted to eavesdrop on the conversation between his two exes from another room the next day.

But he didn’t last long. After ten minutes he stormed into the room with a gun in his hand. The relationship conversation took an abrupt turn and suddenly Haydar demanded money. But not just Haydar. According to the Roosendaalse, Kimberly participated just as hard.

The girlfriend from Roosendaal had to transfer 5000 euros to Haydar, but also 5000 euros to Kimberly’s account. Then the three of them went to ATMs in Wouw and Bergen op Zoom and that raised another 2100 euros.

But who was on which side? The prosecutor had no doubts. Kimberly and her ex would have come up with and implemented this plan together. Kimberly lured the other ex to her chalet and money was immediately taken from there. She would have specially arranged a device for internet banking.

No, said Kimberly. I am the victim of my ex. It was hell with him for three years and I couldn’t compete with him. I did everything he said and always paid for everything for him.

Yes, the officer said, because Kimberly could have made other choices. For example, when she went to the ATM with the other girlfriend and Haydar was in another car. She even had a phone with her.

No, Kimberly’s lawyer said. Haydar was the last to be interrogated and was able to tailor his story nicely to the two women. Kimberly is definitely a victim because everything was Haydar’s idea.

The woman from Roosendaal said that that day in the chalet was the worst day of her life. She arrived at two o’clock and after twenty minutes 10,000 euros had already been debited. Meanwhile, a gun was pointed at her, which also hit her.

Kimberly got angry when the officer demanded 20 months in prison. She had tried to convince the judges that she was not the perpetrator, but also the victim. Haydar received a slightly higher requirement (24 months), because the officer considers the chance of a recurrence to be somewhat higher.

The court will rule in two weeks.
