EXCLUSIVE. Socialist health insurance fund receives 50 times more subsidies for youth camps than competition: “Not fair”

Every year, millions of euros of Flemish tax money flow to health insurance non-profit organizations that organize youth camps. The question is how fairly those dollars are distributed. Under Flemish Minister of Youth Melissa Depraetere (Vooruit), the non-profit organization linked to the socialist health insurance fund made so much progress that a complaint has been filed. “The system is not fair.” Hans Bonte, who is currently replacing Depraetere, has suspicions, but HLN discovered in documents that doubts are justified.
